Your Excellency,
I have the honour to inform you that I have
been directed by His Excellency the Naval Commander- in-Chief to approach you informally on his behalf with reference to the possible re-allocation to the Admiralty of a portion of the Royal Naval Armament Depot site of a size provisionally indicated in red on
not attached the attached plan.
2.
The intention would be to erect thereon a
Barracks for the accommodation of the permanent Naval
personnel when it becomes necessary to replace
H.M.S. "Tamar”.
3. I should be grateful if I might be allowed to
discuss this matter with Your Excellency at some date
convenient to you before your departure from the
Colony.
